Packages

Three levels of installation

Each one is quoted against your room, so there is no fixed price list. Send us the room details and you will get an itemised quote.

Projector and screen

Contact for price

A large picture in an existing room, using the sound system you already have. Usually completed in a day.

  • Projector chosen for how much light the room gets
  • Fixed-frame or motorised screen
  • Ceiling or wall mount with concealed wiring
  • Picture aligned and focused on site

Basic home theatre

Contact for price

Picture and surround sound supplied together and set up as one system. Our most popular package.

  • Projector and screen, or a large TV
  • 5.1 speakers and subwoofer
  • AV receiver matched to the speakers
  • Sound calibrated for the room
  • One remote for the whole system

Dedicated cinema room

Contact for price

A separate room built for watching. Everything in the basic package plus the construction work that goes with it. One to three weeks.

  • Acoustic panels and bass traps
  • Up to 11 channels, in-wall and in-ceiling
  • Dimmable lighting, star ceiling, tiered seating
  • 3D design approved before we start
Cost depends on the size of the room, the brands you choose and how much building work is involved. Ceiling speakers cut into a finished concrete slab cost considerably more than the same speakers planned before the false ceiling goes up. Send us the room measurements for an accurate figure.

How an installation works

Seven stages from the first call to handover. We do not order anything until you have approved the design and the quote.

  1. 1

    Site visit

We measure the room: size, ceiling height, flooring, window and power point positions, and where you plan to sit.

  2. 2

    Audio and video design

You get a speaker layout for your room and an itemised equipment list with a price against each item.

  3. 3

    Interior design

Panel layout, fabric, ceiling detail, lighting and seating, selected to suit the rest of the house.

  4. 4

    3D drawing

A drawing of the finished room for you to approve before any work starts. Changes at this stage cost nothing.

  5. 5

    Soundproofing

Containing sound inside the room and reducing outside noise, using door seals and heavier wall build-up where the structure allows.

  6. 6

    Acoustic treatment

Acoustic panels on the walls and bass traps in the corners, so dialogue stays clear and the bass is even across the seats.

  7. 7

    Installation and calibration

Mounting, wiring and calibration. The system is set up with measuring equipment and then checked by ear.

Why the room matters

The room affects the sound as much as the equipment does. It is also the part most people leave out.

A dedicated cinema room with acoustic absorption panels on the side walls, a ceiling-mounted projector, a fixed-frame screen and two rows of tiered recliners
Acoustic panels on the side walls, and tiered seating so the back row has a clear view.

Houses here are built from hard surfaces: vitrified tile, plastered concrete, large windows and a flat slab ceiling. Sound reflects off all of it. Dialogue becomes harder to follow, and bass is strong in one seat and weak in the next.

The automatic calibration built into a receiver helps, but it cannot correct the room itself. So we start with the room and select equipment to suit it.

Room size also decides how many speakers are worth fitting. A room three metres wide does not have space for a full 7.1.4 layout. Adding more channels than the room can use makes the result worse. In that case we fit fewer speakers and fit them correctly.

Side surround speakers sit on the left and right walls, rear surrounds on the back wall, and four ceiling speakers sit above and behind the seating. Consoles and gaming PCs

A system set up for films will not always pass a console's full picture through. The whole chain has to be checked.

  • 4K and 120 Hz, checked all the way through

The picture travels from the console through the cable, the receiver and then the TV or projector. One older port anywhere in that chain reduces it to 60 Hz. We test the full chain before handover.

  • Proper cable on the long runs

On runs over about three metres, low-grade HDMI cable causes the picture to drop out intermittently. We fit cable rated for the job.

  • Lag checked in your room

Game mode on, picture processing off, sound path kept short. We report the delay measured in your room.

Setup depends on what you play. Competitive games need the lowest delay. Single-player games can accept more processing for a better picture. We set up both as separate modes.

We keep projectors suited to gaming in stock. Bring your console to the showroom and try them on a full-size screen.

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not covered here, contact the showroom.

Why are there no prices on the website?

The same system costs different amounts in different rooms. Size, brands and the amount of building work all change the figure. Ceiling speakers cut into a finished concrete slab cost considerably more than the same speakers planned before the false ceiling goes up.

A price list on a website would be wrong for most houses. Send us your room measurements and you will get an itemised quote.

Can I hear a system before I order?

Yes. There is a full system set up at the Kollam showroom, open until 6 pm. No appointment is needed, though call ahead if you want a particular setup ready when you arrive.

Bring your own film or console. Familiar material gives a more reliable impression.

Which areas do you cover?

Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The showroom and demo room are in Kollam and the team travels from there.

Site visits are free in and around Kollam. Further out there may be a travel charge, confirmed before the visit is arranged.

Do I need a separate room, or will the living room do?

Most of what we install goes in living rooms and performs well. There is less control over the bass and the room cannot be fully darkened, but the result is a system the family uses every day.

A separate room is worth considering if you watch films regularly, or if the house is still being built and the room can be planned now.

Projector or a big TV?

Where the light can be controlled, a projector gives a much larger picture for the money and is more comfortable over a long film. In a room with large windows and mainly daytime use, a bright TV is the better choice.

For gaming either works, provided the screen genuinely supports 4K at 120 Hz. We verify that ourselves, as the specification is not always accurate.

Do you repair things bought somewhere else?

Yes. Receivers, amplifiers, projectors and speakers, wherever they were bought. Bring the unit to the showroom, or call us out if it is already installed and difficult to move.

Send us a photo of the back panel first if you can. With the model number we can usually tell you whether it is worth repairing before you make the trip.

How long does an installation take?

A projector and screen is usually one day. A living room 5.1 system with concealed wiring takes one to two days. A separate cinema room with acoustic treatment, ceiling speakers and seating takes one to three weeks, depending on the carpentry and electrical work involved. We confirm the dates before starting.

Do I need Dolby Atmos?

Only if the ceiling can take the extra speakers in the right places. A flat slab ceiling around 2.7 m high is ideal. We also supply Auro-3D and DTS:X.

If the ceiling is low, or there are beams and ducting in the way, the ceiling speakers end up in the wrong positions, and a good 5.1 system will outperform a compromised Atmos one. We advise on this after measuring the room.
